Nominated for Outstanding Production for Young Audiences at the 2009 Sterling Awards, this delightful play, written in rhyme and full of music, follows Connor, a young Papple boy on a scary but exciting journey to explore the island he lives on. When he unexpectedly meets a little girl named Ceili from the other side of the forest, where his fellow Papples have told him the frightening and monstrous Orange-Folk live, he discovers that people can be as different as apples and oranges just like his community taught him… but they can also be friends. A hilarious and Dr. Seuss-inspired look at difference and acceptance, drawn from the playwright’s Irish background.
